Caring for your wool-filled toy

Our wool-filled toys are made with love and designed to last, bringing joy for years to come. To help you keep them looking their best, we’ve put together a simple care guide.

Whether it needs a quick spot clean or a deeper wash, follow these instructions to keep your toy fresh, fluffy, and ready for hours of play!

Spot cleaning it:

01. Gentle dabbing:

Always start with spot cleaning. Use a clean, damp cloth to gently dab any stains—avoid rubbing to protect the wool fibers.

02. Rinse:

Use a clean, wet cloth to wipe away any soap, and blot out any moisture.

03. Air dry:

Let the toy air dry naturally in a well-ventilated area.

Washing it when spot-cleaning isn’t enough:

01. Prepare the water:

Fill a bowl or sink with lukewarm water—just comfortable enough for your hands.

02. Add detergent:

Add a small amount of wool detergent. Ideally one which is ‘no rinse’ and leaves no residue or stiffness.

03. Soak:

Submerge the toy in the soapy water, gently squeezing it to allow the water to penetrate the wool.

04. Soak time:

Let it sit in the soapy water for about 30 minutes.

05. Remove soapy water:

Gently squeeze the toy to remove the soapy water.

06. Rinse thoroughly:

Replace the water with clean lukewarm water and gently squeeze the toy to rinse out all detergent. Repeat the rinsing process if necessary.

07. Reshape:

After squeezing out excess water, carefully reshape the toy by hand.

08. Towel dry:

Wrap the toy in a towel to absorb extra moisture.

09. Air dry:

Lay the toy flat on a towel in a well-ventilated area, away from heat sources. Periodically check and reposition it to ensure all sides dry thoroughly. In dry climates, the toy should air dry within a day. In humid climates, it may take a couple of days. Ensure the wool is completely dry to prevent mould.
